The Road to Aberdeen (Live) * * Previously unreleased on an album	This U.K. CD release is very similar to the U.S. release The MCA Years: A Retrospective, but it has several significant differences. The main difference is the inclusion of two tracks that had never been previously released on a Nanci Griffith album -- "Tumble and Fall," which was a bonus track on the CD single for "Heaven," and "The Road to Aberdeen (live)," which had never been released before in any form. This CD also contains tracks from Other Voices Other Rooms, which had been released on MCA Records in England but on Elektra in the U,S, As with The MCA Years, this CD is out-of-print, but since this CD was not released in the United States, it is somewhat difficult to find here.

The liner notes are quite extensive, and there are some really cool photos there, too. The all-important spoken intros to the live tracks are intact, thankfully. If this collection had included "Beacon Street" and "So Long Ago," instead of a few of the songs that are there, I would consider this the perfect collection of her MCA work...	Buy from Amazon:

Included with these recordings are three non-album tracks: "Wooden Heart," recorded in 1990 and never commercially released in the United States, and two tracks from the Late Night Grande Hotel sessions, "Tumble and Fall," also never commercially released in the U.S., and "Stand Your Ground," not previously released. All tracks were digitally remastered from the original master tapes, and the sound is much improved!	Buy from Amazon:
